I was wondering how the creators did it. For example how would i make the iphone, or my own os WITHOUT using linux and those supporter.or even how to make a mp3 player. What classes, college, job, field, carreer, book, program, website, etc…
If i want to start a bussiness like sony, apple…what do i do?
AND btw, why is the chip always green?
Also, during the summer, what website should I visit to learn?

First you have to have a product idea to develop/create. Without a definite goal, you will fail. A nebulous idea of “having a company” won’t look good on your business plan and won’t convince your investors.

Also this idea that you have to be “like Apple” or “like Sony” is wrong; there are already companies like those, they are called “Apple” and “Sony”. To succeed you need something new, different, something we didn’t know we needed until now. Or you need to significantly improve on something already available. Have you bought an iPhone, iPod or MP3 player and taken them apart to see how they tick?

If you want to program an OS, you’ll need a programming environment, like Linux, you’ll need to learn several programming languages, and you’ll need to be passionate about it. Sourceforge is replete with half-assed unfinished projects. If you want to design the latest killer application, you’ll need to know what’s already available and what the gaps are, i.e. research, research, research.

If you want to design hardware you’ll need at least an electrical engineering qualification, maybe computer engineering, integrated circuit design, low-level programming language (assembly code). And of course, you’ll need to have a good idea.

From your question it seems like you want to have a company (like Apple or Sony) because you think they and their products are cool, not because you have a burning ambition to create something. If you really knew what it was you wanted to achieve, you wouldn’t need to ask how.
